Barclays and Cogni partnered to work on a new banking app – one that satisfies the changing needs of modern Americans. Our team was hired to execute the entire project from start to finish: from developing a product strategy to cropping screenshots for the App Store release.
UX/UI design, app design, web design, jobs-to-be-done, mind mapping, CJM, user research, google design sprint.
The Cogni name comes from the word “cognition” – or the process of acquiring knowledge and understanding about the world. It was with this in mind that we adopted a process of finding patterns in abstract shapes and classifying them as known objects, developing the idea in the logo and elsewhere.
We designed a home page that isn’t a chore to check regularly, just like Instagram or Facebook. Cogni provides meaningful insights that help you spend wisely and save more.
Cogni has established connections with multiple vendors, so now you can shop at your favorite spots and get a little percentage back. It also works for business lunches, flights, leisure activities – the list goes on.
Cogni lets you multiply your savings through a broad range of proven methods: for example, the app can round-up your balance at the end of the day or share your goal with friends so they can contribute (that’s your birthday present sorted).
We gathered all the possible options to send money — from sending directly to a card to sending via SMS. So whatever the situation, the simplest and most convenient payment method is right there.
Barclays’ backing meant we could afford to create whatever banking products we could imagine. Unlike Cogni, many of new-era banks like Revolut or Monzo don’t offer standard banking products like credit cards or saving accounts.
As it takes a long time to develop a banking app, Cogni decided to create a teaser app, where you can earn unique benefits while waiting for the release. The results were incredible.
