Best fintech design agencies: four teams to compare

A fintech design shortlist should start with the product. A banking app, a merchant dashboard, and a credit card brand need different kinds of work. Humbleteam, UXDA, Qubstudio, and Eleken are four agencies worth comparing against a written brief, with different emphases in their public portfolios.

Humbleteam wrote this guide and is included in the shortlist. This is not an independent ranking.

How were these agencies selected?

The selection uses public service pages and named work to compare financial-product experience, UX/UI scope, and the way an agency joins a client’s team. Inclusion does not mean every agency suits every fintech. A brand project is evidence of branding work; it does not establish that the same team designed a transaction flow.

Availability, fees, and the proposed delivery team need direct confirmation. The fit assessments below are editorial judgments, not client ratings.

Which fintech design agencies should buyers compare?

Humbleteam

Humbleteam’s fintech work spans product design and branding. Its One Bank case provides banking UX evidence, while Deserve documents brand identity for credit card infrastructure. Keeping those scopes separate helps buyers choose a relevant reference.

Consider the agency when product and brand decisions need to fit together. For a payments brief, request a walkthrough of the closest delivered transaction journey and identify which parts belong to the client’s engineering and compliance teams. A brand case alone is not enough.

UXDA

UXDA focuses on financial-services UX, including strategy, research, and design systems. Its public portfolio includes Emirates NBD and Garanti BBVA Securities, with examples across banking and investment products.

That focus makes it a candidate for financial institutions seeking a partner for a broader experience program. Ask how the proposed engagement handles a smaller, tightly bounded problem. A large banking portfolio does not establish the right team size or commercial model for an early product.

Qubstudio

Qubstudio’s fintech practice includes retail and corporate banking, payments, and lending. Its public examples include Gulf Bank’s mobile banking app and Loan Mantra’s lending platform, alongside brand and website work.

Compare Qubstudio when the brief includes several customer journeys or needs design-system support. Request a case that matches the actual channel and audience. A retail banking app and a corporate finance workflow may share a sector but involve different decisions.

Eleken

Eleken positions itself around SaaS UX/UI design and includes fintech among its sectors. This is a useful starting point for a financial software team buying ongoing interface design, especially when internal engineers already own implementation.

Ask for a relevant financial software case before treating general SaaS experience as sufficient. Confirm who owns user research, technical delivery, and review of mandatory financial content. These responsibilities should appear in the scope, not remain assumptions.

Which starting point matches the product brief?

Use this matrix to choose conversations, not to declare a winner. It summarizes the portfolio emphasis described above. The same agency may suit several assignments; the proposed team and closest delivered journey still need checking.

  • Request one walkthrough of the same task: an interrupted transfer, a lending application, or a reconciliation exception.
  • Ask which screens the agency designed and which research, implementation, or compliance decisions belonged to another team.
  • Request the actual handoff format, including error states and content ownership. A polished banking home screen does not answer those questions.
  • Record missing evidence as an open question. Compare proposals only after research access, delivery responsibilities, and the review process are explicit.

What evidence should a fintech buyer request?

Give each agency the same user journey and ask it to discuss the difficult states: pending transactions, rejected identity checks, interrupted applications, and recovery after an error. Request examples of design decisions, not just final screens.

Then compare the named team, research access, review process, and handoff materials. The client should identify the people responsible for legal and compliance approval. Designers can make approved requirements easier to understand; a portfolio is not a compliance certification.

What do buyers commonly ask?

Which agency is best for a fintech startup?

The answer depends on the assignment. Match the closest case and proposed team to the product stage. A focused onboarding project needs a different scope from a bank-wide redesign.

Should branding and product design use the same agency?

They can, provided both disciplines have named owners and clear deliverables. Review a product journey and a brand system separately before combining the work.

Does banking experience prove payments expertise?

Not by itself. Ask about the payment type, user, and transaction states in the relevant case. Consumer transfers and merchant reconciliation involve different workflows.

For a transaction-focused brief, review Humbleteam’s payments product design service and bring the journey that needs attention.
