FanDuel
A UI direction for the FanDuel sportsbook — placing a bet, following the game and claiming a promotion, drawn end to end on the phone and the desktop.

Sport
FanDuel Sportsbook is where millions of American fans place a bet, follow a game and chase a promotion. We drew a UI direction for it — the visual language, the interaction patterns and the system underneath, on mobile and on desktop. The bar we set: a sportsbook’s depth carried with a consumer app’s calm.
Fans don’t judge a betting app against other betting apps. They judge it against the apps they open every day, and in our sessions they say so out loud.
So we designed to that comparison instead of to the category: complexity organized, never hidden, and nothing on screen that hasn’t earned the space.

Money moves fast here, so every action has to feel certain. State, feedback and reversibility come before decoration.
A sportsbook holds hundreds of leagues, thousands of teams and a market that moves while you’re still reading it. The design has to organize that depth rather than bury it. So we built the browsing around what a fan actually came for — their team, their game, tonight — and left the rest of the catalog one search away.

Design System & Brand Voice
The system starts with the states nobody puts in a moodboard. Live, losing, loading, empty — each one is drawn into the language, so no team has to invent its own version of it.
Components are built in Figma to become code. Tokens, components and documentation sit in one place, so a card changes at the source and every screen it appears on changes with it.
Motion, sound and haptics belong to the same language. Bet placed, cash out, win — each moment gets energy in proportion to what’s at stake, and the rules say when the app stays quiet.

A design language only counts once it survives the teams that build on it. We drew this one to be handed over, not admired.
Every pattern is annotated: what it’s for, which states it covers, and what an engineer needs to build it.
The same parts carry past the sportsbook, so the products around it inherit the language instead of reinventing it.
